Recently had a feng shui master to come do some reading in my office. In case you maybe wondering what feng shui is you can read it up on wiki. While i am not a believer on most stuff that comes without scientific backing, i do find fengshui fascinating.
Feng shui on a personal view is something about finding the right balance within your home. I like fengshui that deals with balancing the element in a location. Harmonising the elements within your home. While of course the fengshui master took in consideration on issue bigger than this but on a basic level this is a concept that i felt i could accept.
The issue i faced after engaging a master to do the reading is that there are some recommandation which i would not want to follow. I am lucky that the feng shui master i engaged does not require me to buy any stuff from him (i have friends that spend thousands of dollars just for some ugly jade). He does however insist on changing the direction of the main door. This is because in feng shui, the door is the entrance of the chi to a home/office. As such its position plays a big deal in the entire fengshui of the location.
Now changing the direction may sound like small work but it is in reality a huge work (as witness by myself) and the worst thing was that there is rarely any contractor here in Singapore that does such work.
After a long search i got lucky finding someone that did it and i will be leaving their contact at the end for anyone whom needs such service.
Basically the work involves:
- hacking of wall to remove the frame and the door
- rebuilding up the wall hacked
- replastering the wall and reinstalling the frame
- realigning the door.
The moment i heard hacking of wall my head started to spin. The mess, the noise and the fuss. Thankfully the door repair contractor that i engage is nice enough to try and minimize all of the above for me especially the mess portion where everything is cleaned up before they left.
The work itself started at 9am sharp so that they can finish it before the day end or else i wont even have a door to close for the night!
anyway as promise the door repair contractor can be found at www.singaporedoorrepair.com.
To conclude, do i regret engaging a feng shui master? Not really. Is the work worth it? i do hope so. Is my door working fine? Yes it is. In fact i do like the way it is now compared to before.
